Women's Health Services Provider Bios
Renee Bates, CNM came to Hackley Community Care Center in 1998 with extensive experience in Obstetrics after working as a labor and delivery nurse for 12 years. She received her Masters of Science and Certified Nurse Midwifery from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1998. Renee is the Lead Midwife at Hackley Community Care Center and has special practice interests in Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health.
I. Dale Carroll, MD, OB/GYN is board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology. He is also certified in Travel Medicine. He attended Asbury College in Kentucky and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Medical College where he received his MD. He obtained his Tropical Medicine Certification at the Gorgass Institute in Lima, Peru. He grew up in India and has done medical work in Honduras and Kenya. Dr. Carroll is an international lecturer on the subject of pregnancy and travel and writes extensively on the subject. He came to Hackley Community Care Center in 2001 after practicing all over Michigan as a Staff Physician and Medical Director. His special interests are Obstetrics, Women’s Health and Travel Medicine.
Deborah Johnson, CNM has been with Hackley Community Care Center since 1994. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University in 1975 and obtained a Diploma of Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwifery from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in 1978. In 1997 she went on to receive her Master of Science from the State University of New York. Deborah worked at several birthing centers and hospitals as a Labor and Delivery Nurse and as a CNM in Arizona before coming to Michigan. Her interests include OB, Women’s Health and Nurse Midwifery.
Tasha Scott, CNM graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Aquinas College. Upon completion of studies at Wayne State University, she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and a Master’s of Nursing degree with a concentration in nurse-midwifery. She has recently completed specialized training as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). Her professional experience includes working as a Registered Nurse in the emergency room at Detroit Receiving Hospital (Detroit, MI), and in the labor and delivery unit at Hutzel Hospital (Detroit, MI). She is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), and the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM). Her special interests include educating female adolescents about their bodies and healthy lifestyle behaviors.
